Sonu Kakkar is one of the trio, “Kakkar Siblings” was born in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand on October 20 1979. She has two siblings –
Neha Kakkar who is a famous singer and judge at an Indian singing reality show ‘Indian Idol’.
Tony Kakkar who is also a singer, he sings in Bollywood movies and also has few solo albums.
The Kakkar siblings, Sonu Kakkar, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar has worked really hard over the years to make their place in the singing world. While Neha and Tony never shy away from sharing their personal life with the fans, Sonu has always kept a low profile. And the nation still thinks that she is single, but the fact is that she is a married woman. The singer had tied the knot with her husband, Neeraj Sharma on December 20, 2006.
Career
Sonu kakkar started her singing career in 2003 with the song “Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo” from the film ‘Dum’. After a sequent time she lent her voice from the songs Seduction Saavariya, Ishq Da Tadka, Kar Mundya and Lawani and Urban Munda.
Sonu has been known to sing in languages like Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi and Nepali.
Some of her recent songs, which she had given include the Urban Munda from Single movie of 2014, Salaam Lijiye Kabool Kijiye from Kohinoor, Mahi Bin Heer- the Sufi Soul, Hip Hip Hurrah from Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Aisi Bani and Malgova. Right from her earlier days as a singer to the current days, she has showcased one of the best and independent spirits and passion for her work. Being blessed with the natural talent, it helps her to perform the best, be it playback singing or the stage performances; she has remained consistent and incredible giving her melodious voice to everyone.
She has even worked with the veteran Music Director AR Rahman in the project called Godfather, her song Jeena from the movie called Mukhbir was a big hit, while her latest album released is Don’t Touch Me.
Besides, Sonu has even sang a number of classical songs as well, which include the movie Boom from Kaizad Gustad. The song stole the heart of many and turned out to be among the top in the chartbuster list. Some of the popular movies for which she has given playback singing include Corporate, Sandwich, Kis Kis Ki Kismet, Delhi Heights, Hickhi, Revati, Sheesha, etc.
