Wishing You a wonderful Happy Birthday Amit Trivedi

Amit Trivedi

Amit Trivedi was born in Bandra, Mumbai but has a native in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat. He has done his education from Rizvi College Mumbai. He was very much fascinated from electronic music instrument due to which his interest started getting developed into music composition.
Amit got married to Krutee Desai and have a son named Yaman Trivedi.

Career

In his initial days of college, Amit Trivedi joined a band named ‘’Om’

In his younger days, an electronic musical instrument fascinated Amit Trivedi, and he was slowly drawn towards music, mainly influenced by classical music. At 19–20, he began composing music. They struck gold when Times Music took notice at one of their shows, and offered to launch their album. The album however did not fare well, due to lack of promotion. Eventually Trivedi went on to compose for theatre (Hindi, English and Gujarati plays), background music for television shows, programming for some Marathi films, live performances, dandiya shows, orchestras etc. He also had a brief stint composing advertisement jingles, for brands such as McDonald’s and Airtel.

After sound engineer and Audio Garage Recording Studio owner Arvind Vishwakarma introduced Amit Trivedi to Sony BMG, he began composing music for non-film albums. As a part of his two-year contract, Trivedi composed some tracks for Abhijeet Sawant’s Junoon and one song in Prashant Tamang’s debut album.

Amit Trivedi arranged for many musicians including Amartya Rahut for a Marathi film Uttarayan in 2004.

Film music eventually came his way, when friend and playback singer Shilpa Rao suggested his name to film director Anurag Kashyap. The latter was in search of a new composer with a distinct vision for his next film. After meeting Amit Trivedi, Kashyap offered him the chance to compose the soundtrack to Dev.D. Although it was scheduled to be his debut, Dev.D ran into production delays and was shelved for some time.

Upon Kashyap’s recommendation, Trivedi was roped in to score Raj Kumar Gupta’s directorial venture Aamir. Trivedi and Gupta worked on making the soundtrack fuse with the film narrative, resulting in an effort that garnered critical recognition.

By the end of 2008, Dev.D was finally released. The soundtrack, released in December, consisted of 18 tracks of different genres. Amit Trivedi dubbed the soundtrack the “baap (father) of different genres”. He sang five songs on the soundtrack, and wrote the lyrics for one Aankh Micholi. He shot to fame with the unusual music of Dev.D, giving many chartbusters like “Emosanal Attyachar

Saali Khushi

O Pardesi

And many more. Trivedi wrote the score for Wake up Sid (2009) and one of his compositions “Iktara” was also included in the soundtrack.

In the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape case, the lyrics to some of his songs, which depict violence against women and rape positively, have caused controversy. A first information report (FIR) was lodged against Singh for his offensive lyrics, and a group of social activists filed an online petition demanding cancellation of his New Year performance at a Gurgaon hotel. After the campaign, Singh’s New Year concert was cancelled by the hotel. Singh denies writing these offensive lyrics. Singh’s song “Party All Night” in Akshay Kumar’s film Boss was at the center of a controversy.

Producers of the movie had to submit a petition in Delhi High Court claiming that they had ‘muted’ an alleged vulgar word in Singh’s song. The court heard a petition filed by lawyer Sanjay Bhatnagar seeking a stay on the film, contending that without the censor board’s approval, the song could not be released with such a vulgar word. The petitioner had sought a stay on the release of the film until either the word or the song was deleted from the film.

His work has been perceived by whom as being vulgar, misogynist, promoting violence against women and a bad influence on youth. There have been reactions in print to Singh, such as from Annie Zaidi, who wrote “An Open Letter to Honey Singh” in January 2013, and Sandipan Sharma, who wrote “Thanks for the crassness: An open letter to Honey Singh from a parent” in July 2014.

She is quite a famous personality among Gujarati community.

Every year during the festival of Navratri people from all over the world listen Falguni Pathak’s songs to do Garba on her Garga and Dandiya jingles. She is regarded as one of the first artists to make Garba so popular amount other people except Gujaratis. Let’s hear something more about her.

Career

Falguni completed her schooling and college from Mumbai. She graduated from M.M.K College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. She started singing on stage at age 9, growing up to perform at neighborhood events before she hit the big league in the 1990s. Since childhood she was treated like a boy, her parents wanted a boy right when Falguni was born that is one of the reasons why she is always dressed in a men’s attire. Her elder sisters always used to wear clothes like guys while playing with her so that she would feel less awkward.

She got trained in folk music from Dilwaliben Bhil and also Bhavdeep Jaipurwale for nearly 5 years.

She had recorded her first song in Gujarati movie when she was 10 years old along with Bollywood’s most successful singer Alka Yagnik.

Falguni Pathak has also sung many Bollywood jingles like –

Kahan Teri Bansuri

Falguni Pathak’s Garba

Navratri is a 9 day-long festival that is celebrated with dance and music. In the northern part of India, this festival is celebrated with the Ram Leela, while in other states like Gujarat, people perform Dandiya and Garba. Singer Falguni Pathak is known as the Dandiya and Garba Queen for all the right reason. This year due to the pandemic, there are no live shows happening around the city, but if you want to enjoy dancing to the tunes of Falguni Pathak’s songs in the comfort of your home, here’s a full list of her songs to get that Garba vibe on.

Ta Thaiya

Pathak is India’s undisputed Dandaiya Queen. She’s been performing since 1986, forming Ta Thaiya in 1994. Her youthful but powerful voice may seem at odds with her signature jacket, sunglasses, short hair, trousers and ever-so-gentle headbang. But her look doesn’t matter.

Pathak’s specialty is in mixing unheard, unusual numbers with popular hits. She likes to perform in a new and different way every year. Fans happily pay higher prices for it.

Pathak is also a constant in the fast-changing world of the dandiya raas. Builders and construction companies, the chief sponsors of the events, are battling a slump in the real-estate market. Bollywood is turning villain, with copyright issues putting an end to contemporary film music performed for dandiya. And the community celebration is itself becoming more stylized and competitive.

Dwayne Das, Ta Thaiya’s sound engineer for 23 years, says Pathak is unusually meticulous. She knows exactly what she wants and how sound should be projected, if her requirements aren’t met, she won’t work with that organizer.

Still, Pathak admits to being a nervous wreck before every show. She can’t help but worry about how things will go. She becomes so anxious, she don’t feel like talking to anyone before getting out there to sing.

Falguni Pathak is also celebrating her silver jubilee with Ta-Thaiya after completing 25 years of numerous memorable performances with the band. The singer and the band will join hands once again to entertain Navratri revelers, with Falguni’s hit and popular tracks, including Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi & Maine Payal Hai Chhankai

Other Hit songs by Falguni Pathak

Rut Ne Jo Bansi Bajayi

Jhoom Jhoom

Maine Payal Hai Chhankai

In the recent pandemic of COVID19 faced by all the people in the world , when government of India declared National Emergency, Falguni Pathak during the lockdown period used to entertain her neighbors by singing songs from her balcony of her residence and got nationwide love.

Many Many Happy Returns Of The Day To Legendary Mahendra Kapoor

Mahendra Kapoor

Mahendra Kapoor was born in Amritsar, city in Punjab. Soon he moved to Mumbai – A city of Dreams. He always considered Mohammad Rafi as his guru and cited many time that he was the best singer to be ever born, considered him his mentor, he started learning classical music under classical singers like Pt. Hussanlal, Pt. Jagannath Bua, Ustad Niaz Ahmed Khan, Ustad Abdul Rehman Khan and Pt.Tulsidaas Sharma.

Kapoor created a style of his own molded largely on Rafi. Kapoor had a very large vocal range, and he is sometimes known as The Vibrant Voice of India. He was the first Indian playback singer to record music in English. He was asked by the group Boney M to sing their songs in Hindi with Musarat from Pakistan.
Mahendra Kapoor sang the most iconic patriotic song of India, ‘’Mere Desh ki Dharti’

Family

Mahendra Kapoor got married Pravinlata Kapoor and had a son and three Daughters.

Mahendra Kapoor and Mohammad Rafi

Mahendra was around 13 when he heard the Mohammed Rafi number ‘’Yahan badla wafa ka – Jugnu,1947 and was totally mesmerized by the singer. Mahendra somehow found out Rafi saab’s house in Bhendi Bazaar and reached there even though it was a riot-affected area post-Partition. Winning the Metro Murphy All-India singing competition (1957) made it easier for Mahendra to make inroads in Bollywood. Rafi saab helped him perfect the nuances. He sang the non-film song

Ilahi Koi Tamanna Nahi

He said Mahendra, to look at the stars and the moon. It’s such a beautiful night. The creator of so much beauty has no ghamand (pride). Then how can we, who’ve just sung a few songs, pride on ourselves? I’ll perform namaz, you do pooja and let’s thank the Lord.

And the two lost themselves in prayer. Mahendra would never let go of any opportunity to show his gratitude towards Rafi. In 1979, a Mahendra Kapoor night was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London where Rafi’s sons, Khalid and Sayyed, happened to be present.

When Mahendra came to know of it, he asked the organizers to get him two garlands, something impossible at that hour. They were, however, bought from a temple in the vicinity. Then, he called the boys on stage, garlanded them, touched their feet and said, ‘I am not touching your feet, I am touching the feet of my guru who’s sitting in Mumbai!’ The audience was moved. Every singer has been influenced by another but no one acknowledges it.
Surprisingly, Rafi and Mahendra never sang together (except in Aadmi, 1968).Rafi would say, ‘Log hum mein kushti ladayenge (people will pitch us against each other). We are brothers, not rivals
The ’70s saw a paradigm shift in film music with the combination of Kishore Kumar and RD Burman taking over. It was a highly insecure phase for all singers, not only Kapoor.

The Indian and earthy style of singing popularized by singers like Talat saab, Rafi saab, Mukeshji and Mahendra Kapoor gave way to a western style. The instruments changed completely. That era troubled dad. Left, right and center it was only Kishore Kumar.

There was only one song of Rafi Saab and Mahendra Saab

Aadmi 1968

The Burning Hand Story of Raj Kapoor for Mahendra Kapoor.

Mahendra Kapoor told his family another incident when he went with Raj Kapoor for a show in Tashkent, in Russia. Rajsaab asked him whether he would play the harmonium when he sang his songs.

My father agreed, so as decided, my father played the harmonium and Rajsaab sang his songs. People applauded, Rajsaab was a demi-god in Russia.

The song ‘Neele Gagan Ke Tale’’ was a huge hit in Russia. He asked someone to translate the song into Russian language and memorised it. After Rajsaab left the stage, Kapoor started singing ‘’Neele Gagan Ke Tale’’ in Russian. People went mad, and they began calling out my Mahendra Kapoor’s name and cheering for him. Rajsaab heard the noise and wanted to see who was so popular.
On seeing Mahendra Kapoor on the stage, he said, “Sirf ek Kapoor he doosre Kapoor ko maat de sakta hai” (Only one Kapoor can defeat another Kapoor).
Rajsaab was very happy with my Mahendra Kapoor.

While returning from Tashkent, he said, ‘Mahendra, I can’t give you the songs pictured on me as Mukesh sings my songs, you know that.’
Mahendra Kapoor said, ‘I know it and I don’t want them. Mukesh is a good friend.’
Rajsaab said, ‘There are second heroes in my films for whom you can sing. I can give you those songs. Henceforth, all my second hero songs, only you will sing.’
My father pulled his leg a bit. ‘Paaji, you are such a big man, once you reach India, you will forget you ever told me this.’
Rajsaab said, ‘Mahendra, you think like this of me?’ He then took the cigarette he was smoking and burnt his hand and said, ‘This mark will remain on my hand to remind me that I have to give you songs.’
When they came back, Rajsaab gave him the songs –

Later she was heard in the song ‘’Jiya re’’

Which was composed by the legendary A.R Rahman she said that Rahman caller her for recording while getting perceived from him.
Eventually Neeti Mohan had shown too much enthusiasm and energy previously on the show due to which A.R Rahman had chosen her to sing the song. And she turned out to be awesome.
Due to delays in the date of release Jiya Re was release after the Ishq Wala Love which was shot after Jiya re but was released first.
Anyway, both of them made mark on Bollywood’s critics and audience too.
A Bollywood entertainment website ‘’Koimoi’’ mentioned that Shakti Mohan’s refreshing voice delivers the track with lot of enthusiasm and variations. And anyway Rahman had already appreciated she got recognition since then.
Mohan provided the chorus along with Natalie Di Luccio in Raghav Sachar-composed “Bittoo Sab Ki Lega” from Bittoo Boss, released the same year. During the year, she released her first single, titled “Ja Ja” composed and written by Mohan, assisted by her father.
Mohan lent her voice for Ayushmann Khurrana’s Punjabi track, “Saadi Galli Aaja

Since Mohan does not speak Punjabi, she had to learn to pronounce the words before recording the song. “Koimoi” stated that Mohan “mesmerizes” the listeners in the unplugged version of the song, with her “husky voice”. is Mohan’s extemporization in the middle of the track—with all the hiccups, laughs and squeals in place. The film marks the first time she read a script before recording a track to the respective film. “I was asked to sing just like how I would perform live”. She recorded the songs at the studio dressed like a jazz singer, with people around her to cheer her.

For another track “Dhadaam Dhadaam“, Mohan was locked up in a room and was asked to “feel the pain of someone who’s going through a break-up”. Describing her time recording the song, she said; “I ran a fever after that song and you can almost hear the tear in my voice towards the end”. Additionally,
